Doubt and questions are a natural part of the Christian journey. Every believer encounters moments of uncertainty or curiosity, and it’s okay to have questions about faith, the Bible, or God’s plan for our lives. Rather than seeing doubts as something to hide, we can view them as opportunities for growth, learning, and drawing closer to God.
Doubt doesn’t mean we lack faith; it simply means we’re seeking a deeper understanding. Even the disciples experienced moments of doubt. In Matthew 28:17, it’s said, “they worshiped Him; but some doubted.” This shows that doubt and faith can coexist, and doubts can be stepping stones to a stronger, more informed belief.
When we seek answers to our questions, we find a richer understanding of who God is. By wrestling with tough questions, we develop a more mature and resilient faith.
Doubts motivate us to dig deeper into Scripture, theology, and Christian teachings, providing a stronger foundation for our beliefs.
Proverbs 3:5 encourages us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Doubt can deepen our reliance on God and draw us closer to Him.
James 1:5 encourages us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God.” Trust that God welcomes your questions and is ready to guide you.
Spend time reading, studying, and meditating on verses related to your questions. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Talking with trusted mentors, pastors, or mature Christians can provide valuable perspectives. Proverbs 11:14 reminds us, “Where there is no guidance, a people falls.”
Books, sermons, articles, and podcasts from reliable Christian authors and speakers can offer insights. Ensure that these resources align with biblical principles.
Figures like Thomas, Moses, and David faced doubts, yet God responded with patience. Their stories remind us that God is gracious and understanding of our need for assurance.
Worship refocuses your heart and reminds you of God’s greatness. Praising God, even amid doubts, strengthens your faith.
Fellowship with other believers provides encouragement and accountability, helping you stay grounded in your faith.
Keep doing the things that strengthen your relationship with God, such as praying, reading Scripture, and serving others.
Remember that God’s love and faithfulness do not depend on our understanding. 2 Timothy 2:13 says, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful.”
Faith isn’t the absence of questions; it’s trusting God even with unanswered questions. Embrace your journey with an open heart, knowing that God welcomes your questions and will guide you through them.
