When bad things start to happen in our lives sometimes, we tend to blame the devil. In the scriptures we read today, we recognize that the hearts and actions of Judah are driven by strange altars. These were bad times, and God declared that even the land He gave them would be taken away because they had left God behind. God can be angry, and we should never allow grace to blind us. Our focal point for today’s message is Jeremiah chapters 17 and 18.

God's Anger Revealed in the Book of Jeremiah

Jeremiah 17:1-4 reveals God's anger, stating that the sins of Judah were written in indelible ink, unable to be erased. Judah had abandoned God, and in response, God declared that their wealth and treasures would be plundered, and they would serve their enemies.

The Danger of Trusting in Man and Departing from God

Leaving the way of God tends to deceive Christians into believing that they achieved success on their own. Trust in people leads to rejection by God. Jeremiah 17:5-6 warns us that cursed is the man who trusts in man and departs from the Lord, as they will inhabit a barren wasteland.

God's Word Initiating Transformation

Jeremiah 18:1-2 shows how God initiates transformation through His word. God instructs Jeremiah to visit the potter’s house, where He would deliver His message. The passage underscores the fact that God moves through His word, bringing new revelation and transformation into our lives.

The Potter’s Hands: Incubator of God's Work

The potter’s hands symbolize God’s work in our lives. Like clay, we are shaped and molded under His divine touch. It is in God’s hands that transformation takes place, allowing us to grow in strength, wisdom, and understanding of His word.

Opening Your Heart

To receive God’s transformation, we must open our hearts to Him. Even in brokenness and uncertainty, we remain in the hands of the Master Potter, who shapes and refines us for His purposes. God will never abandon us, and He continues to work in our lives, even through hardship.
