The resurrection of Jesus is not just a historical event that happened over two thousand years ago; it is a reality we can experience today. The resurrection symbolizes the victory we have in Jesus—victory over sin and death. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we receive new life, abundant and full of hope.
Several Biblical characters, including John, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, narrate their perspectives on the resurrection of Jesus. A common stance is seen in their accounts: the resurrection took place early in the morning, and women, specifically Mary Magdalene, were present at the scene (John 20:1, Matthew 28:1-2, Mark 16:1-2, Luke 24:1). These shared details emphasize the importance of women in the resurrection story.
The accounts confirm the bravery of at least four women who gathered the courage to visit the tomb of Jesus. These women had personal testimonies of what Jesus had done for them, and they stood by Him during His crucifixion when His disciples were nowhere to be found. Like these women, we too need to stand boldly for our faith, no matter the circumstances.
The women witnessed an empty tomb, and an angel gave them a mission: to go and tell the disciples that Jesus had risen. This message, found in Mark 16:7, is also for us today. We are called to go and tell others about the victory of Jesus over sin and death and share the good news of His resurrection.
As believers, we are tasked with the responsibility of sharing the good news of Jesus. The resurrection is not just a historical event but a current reality. We are saved not only for ourselves but to be witnesses of God’s love and power. Let us boldly go and tell others about the resurrection of Jesus and invite them to experience the same victory we have in Him.
The resurrection of Jesus is a reality that brings hope, transformation, and victory over sin and death. We are called to share this truth with others. Like the women who stood with Jesus, let us be bold in our faith and in spreading the good news. Let us go and tell the world about the risen Christ, His love, and His power.
